Maximal’s Show of New Machines at Canton fair
The 104th Canton fair is coming. It is time again for Maximal to show quality products and first rate service. We are delighted to welcome friends, old and new from all over the wrold to our booth in this golden fall.
Maximal persistently aims at launching better products. At present, 4.5T diesel forklift with imported engine is being tested. Maximal intends to display the latest machine on CeMAT ASIA 2008 in Shanghai. Besides, the cabin was updated to be with air conditioner and the baking paint was replaced by Nippon paint.

Maximal participated in the 105th Canton fair, which was held from April 15th 19th. Maximal aims at surprising her clients with the latest products all the time, even no exception for this time.

This month Maximal accomplished the preliminary construction of the new website. Maximal added on line Customer Center into the new website. This measure is taken to elevate the quality of service.
Customer Center is composed of four parts Spare Parts Purchase, After sale Service, Internal Notification and Message Board. In the first part, customers could search the suitable parts and look for the purchase history. Customers would put his/her warranty claim and check the processing status of his/her claim by part 2. On line communication even can be effected to solve the claim. Part 3 is used to convey notification to Maximal’s existing customers. Customers could receive the latest news and trends here. The last part is set up to lend an ear to the opinions of all the customers.

Maximal Forklifts for Haiti in 48 Hours

After the earthquake, demand for forklifts to help distribute food, medicine and clothes became critical. Castle Forklifts Ltd of Rugby, Maximals dealer in UK, has modified five new Maximal forklifts in 48 hours for relief work in Haiti.

Castle Forklifts chairman Keith Edkins said that preparing the five Maximal forklifts for local conditions in Haiti is normally a 10 day job, but the company worked around the clock over two days to fulfil the UK government order.

Castle Forklifts was established in 1975 and has imported forklifts from the Far East since 1982. Initially, the forklifts came from Japan but for

the past two years, Castle has imported exclusively from Maximal Forklift in China.

In mid 2008, Castle Forklifts sold a new Maximal diesel forklift to the UK governments relief agency for use in loading freight containers with emergency aid headed for disaster areas globally. "They have been delighted with the forklift ... so when they needed five new forklifts for Haiti, they contacted Castle to check the immediate availability of further Maximals," Edkins says.

The petrol forklifts were converted to run on LPG. Then the converted vehicles and other diesel forklifts were fitted with low profile triplex full free lift masts, sideshifts, puncture proof tyres, heavy duty air filters and extra long forks.

Maximal is extremely proud of her products to serve in this special struggle.

Recalling 2009 Looking ahead for 2010
2009 is past. However, we would be grateful to this tough year. It’s been a year of ups and downs, but we survived! Maximal hasn’t been defeated by all sorts of difficulties. On the contrary, there is a braver and more energetic warrior named Maximal.
When other manufactures were holding back considering the environment of financial crisis, Maximal didn’t pause. Maximal developed 16t diesel forklift, narrow aisle truck, electric stacker, tractor, omni direction forklift and 3.5t electric forklift. These new products were exhibited at Canton fair, CEMAT ASIA and fair in Holland, revealing Maximal’s abundant power of R D.
In the coming 2010, Maximal plans to build a new workshop to enlarge production capacity and further perfect the on site customer center. As to
product development, R D of 4T 5T LPG Forklift with GM engine will be carried out in 2010. Maximal will advance bravely not only for herself but also for all the respected customers supporting her in the past and in the future.

While there's been some small relief for the road transport and logistics industries with a slackening off of some input costs such as those associated with fuel, 2009 holds significant challenges.

The industry has gained something of an edge with more efficient vehicles and improved technologies in trailer and equipment builds, however margins have not grown, therefore operators have to seek further 'pockets of efficiency'. The pursuit of such pockets applies to many facets of transport operation.

While capital expenditure for equipment will have constraints in the immediate future, the equipment distributor Pathway, a division of GoldAcres, has a solution for canny truck and logistics operators.

GoldAcres is well known in the higher end of agriculture as a supplier of advanced technology sprayer equipment to the farming community. The solution offered by Pathway is the Maximal forklift range, a newly introduced line up of handling equipment,

He explained, "The Maximal forklift range, which is manufactured in China, includes electric, diesel, LPG and petrol powered variants with lifting capacities ranging from less that 1 tonne through to 7 tonnes, and they are all manufactured from components that are featured in a host of well proven heavy duty equipment brands.

"Many of the components for Maximal forklifts are sourced from Europe, Japan and the United States and feature brand names that will be very familiar to most industrial, transport and logistics operators.

He continued, "For example, one forklift in the Maximal 'M Series', with a four cylinder 44 kilowatt Nissan petrol engine and Powershift transmission, has a rated capacity of 3,000 kilograms, a lift height of three metres and a 'self weight' of 4,310 kilograms, while the mast tilt angle is six degrees forward with 12 to the rear. It also has a fuel tank capacity of 70 litres."

New Wide View Triplex Mast
Maximal will be introducing the Extra Wide View Triplex mast. With this particular mast the hoses and chains have been placed in such a manner that the operator has 40% more vision/view.
Impairment of the view is one of the biggest problems the operator experiences. The way in which the mast is constructed, and the cylinders have been placed, is obstructive and often leads to damage. To avoid this, the operator has to have maximum vision of the forks.
The mast parts have been placed further apart in the new type of mast. The chains and hoses have been mounted outside the vision area whereby the view, compared to a conventional triplex mast, has been widened by more than 40%. If the hoses and chains are taken into account, the widened view alongside the free lift cylinder is 100%.

When the Sino American Zhejiang Maximal Forklift Co Ltd decided to introduce a range of Max Ex explosion proof trucks it seemed only natural that they should approach the world leader in explosion protection Pyroban Group to act as their Ex partner. Maximal started producing trucks in 2005 and have subsequently gained a strong reputation for high quality forklift trucks meeting international standards many with CE marking for supply within the European market. Pyroban have been explosion proofing forklift trucks for nearly forty years and have been supporting suppliers and users of Ex trucks in the China market for over twenty five of those years (initially as part of an agreement set up with BMHRI Beijing Material Handling Research Institute).
Using the very latest in Pyroban Ex technology the first Maximal trucks to be converted are the Max Ex series FB 20M to FB 30M, 48V battery electric counterbalance trucks with lifting capacities between 2000kg and 3000kg. These models feature Zapi electric controllers and AC maintenance free traction and lift pump motors that ensure maximum truck productivity and minimal service maintenance costs. Maximal and Pyroban design engineers worked together to focus on retaining the original Maximal truck ergonomics one element of which was achieved by integrating the two main explosion proof enclosures within the original truck chassis. The trucks wide vision through the mast, compact turning radius and regenerative braking system were unaffected by the Pyroban explosion proof conversion. All surface temperatures were limited to Temperature Class T.4 and the Zone 1 and Zone 2 rated trucks are certified for Gas Groups IIA and IIB particularly suited for the Petrochemical, Chemical and Paints/Coatings industries. All trucks will be supplied with stainless steel clad forks, electrically conductive tyres and with an anti static driver seat.
Max Ex battery electric trucks can also be supplied with optional explosion proof work lights, explosion proof reverse sounder and flashing beacon. There is also a choice of 48 Volt Ex batteries. Options for both Zone 1 and Zone 2 operations can be specified together with trucks to suit dust and powder hazards or for handling munitions.
All trucks will be certified by CQST to China standard GB 19854:2005 if for use within China or built to international standards of explosion protection such as the harmonised European standard EN 1755 when required for export sales. Further Maximal Ex truck models will be introduced next year including warehouse trucks and trucks designed specifically for the oil and gas industries.
A Max Ex FB 25M 2.5T electric model will be on display at the Zhejiang Maximal Forklift Co exhibition stand number W1 F2 of the CeMAT ASIA fair being held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from the 25 to the 28 October inclusive. Pyroban Suzhou Safety Systems will also be exhibiting explosion proof systems, offering Ex consultation services and Ex truck safety audits from stand number W1 C3 2. From 2010 until now, Maximal become No.1 forklift supplier of Chinese Army. The General Logistics Department of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) have tendered for warehouse equipment for military use. Among the key factors considered in the tender process were security and reliability.


Military officials invited different leading manufacturers of forklift to compete in the tender, with each potential supplier asked to demonstrate the capabilities of their products. The forklifts were judged on appearance, engine power, travel speed, maneuverability in narrow aisles etc.

So far, more than 300units forklift truck matched tender’s requirement and already be delivered to warehouse of General Logistics Department of the People's Liberation Army (PLA).

We are very astonished and sad to see the disaster happened to Japan. The tragic earthquake hurts our partners and friends there.

On March 19th, more than 400 exhibitors gathered in Birmingham NEC exhibition center for IMHX 2013, it lasts four days, common on material handling, logistics, security, automatic technology and internal logistics information processing for communication.
COOPER( SAMUK) Forklift, Maximals exclusive distributor in UK , attended the exhibition. Maximal General Manager Mr. Barry Su and Chief Engineer Mr. Zhang came to participate in IMHX show on behalf of Maximal Company. The show gains great success and fruitful results, both Maximal and Cooper are full of confidence for the bright future.
New Welding robots are put into use
Since last Jan. one welding robot being used in new production line, recently we purchased two more for welding. They are imported from Japan Panasonic with a good work efficiency that is increased about 30% than previous manual welding. One is dedicated to welding carriage while the other is used to tank welding. Now Maximal owns three robots in total for welding, the obvious advantages are, better quality, better appearance, much safer.
Maximal Compact Rough Terrain Forklift
Maximal new product Compact Rough Terrain Forklift will be released to market around May 2013.
The forklift is Dual wheel driving, equipped with Yanmar 4TNE98 engine, transmission with differential lock. Maximal Compact Rough Terrain Forklift has humanized design, comfortable operation and good appearance. We are planning to R D Four wheel driving Rough Terrain Forklift in second half of year 2013.

Welding robot is put into use
Since Maximal Phase¢òproject is being under construction, and No.4 workshop is almost finished. Recently we purchased one welding robot, it is especially for welding mast. After the whole Phase¢òproject finishes, we plan to purchase four more.
Welding robot could continuously work 24 hours without any rest, it spends about 30 40 minutes to weld one mast, its daily output reaches to 15 masts in 8 hours.
The obvious advantages are, Maximal mast with better quality, better appearance, much safer.

Maximal phase II workshop
In order to adapt to sustainable development of enterprise, Maximal Phase ¢òproject is in the process of construction. Total area of Phase ¢ò is 66700 square meters, among which 40000 square meters is plant construction area. Construction of No.1 workshop has already been finished. Construction of No.2 workshop will put into production around May 2012 while No.3 workshop and new administrative building will also be completed by the end of 2012.
At present, new coating line is being in operation. It applies advanced coating technology, with cleaning, painting, drying and burnishing room in one line, improving painting quality and manufacturing efficiency greatly.
After whole Phase ¢ò finishes, Maximal forklifts annual production will reach to 30000 units, while production quality will be improved greatly. At that moment, assembly line of special equipments and large tonnage trucks, component processing center, test line and R D center will be increased.

Maximal New "A" Series Forklift, Designed for driver
What is the "A" Series?
Maximal's first series was the "M" series forklift, the first letter of "MAXIMAL". So "A" is the second.

Design concept
Maximal's New "A" Series Forklift is designed for the driver. Maximal engineers have focused on improving the comfort and safety for new series forklifts, with lower noise levels, less vibration, more safety, and every small detail carefully designed prepared for the driver.

Main points of the New "A" series Forklift
Comfort
  • Full floating safeguard/cabin system, with new engine vibration damper;
  • Generous space for the driver with expanded foot room to reduce fatigue and increase comfort;
  • Special muffler and new noise isolation material, reducing noise levels by more than 4DB;
  • Suspension foot brake allows more room and comfort for driver¡¯s feet;
  • Foot operated parking brake device greatly reduces fatigue in the left arm;
  • Convenient adjusting steering wheel increases angle to 8¡ã;
  • Maximal special display with blue backlight LED for driver convenience and ease of information viewing;
  • Integrated plastic cover of instrument frame for neat and fashionable appearance, with extra storage space for the driver;
    • Full suspension transmission system is available as an option. A new floating type aluminum alloy hydraulic transmission achieves excellent performance and accommodates heavy loading conditions. Suspension transmission replaces traditional rigid connections, greatly improving the forklift's vibration and noise;
    • Mini level system is available as an option.
Safety
  • Wide view mast, with visibility increased from 690mm to 720mm to enhance the operator¡¯s view and safety.
  • The centre of gravity is reduced 50mm from the M series, increasing stability of the truck and offering more visibility at the rear.
  • High strength safe guard/cabin by profiled steel insert all around keep you safer, with a high strength organic glass ceiling as standard
  • This forklift is built with a high safety wire harness, while adopting waterproof AMP connectors and waterproof/shake proof instruments, both of which comply with stringent safety standards.
  • Equipped with engine protective net as standard
    • OPS system is available for customers as an optional extra.

Reliability Exchangeability
  • The composite roller structure has been improved for enhanced reliability.
  • Cabin can be installed directly on the standard safeguard, which is very convenient for the customer to put on and off the cabin
  • Engine cover, instrument panel, display, safeguard and most of the operation components are exchangeable between 1 Mini 4ton forklifts
Energy saving and environmental protection
  • New dynamic load sensing hydraulic steering system improves work efficiency and energy conservation, with fuel consumption reduced by 8%.
  • With more environmentally aware design, the new forklift is totally asbestos free and most of the components are recyclable.

Fork Force Australia Pty Ltd., as Maximal's exclusive Australian distributor (excluding WA), successfully attended a 2 day expo in the small city of Toowoomba to promote our forklift products, sales and hire on 20 21 June 2012.
With some deals left to complete, Fork Force has sold around 4 5 Maximal forklifts from the expo and collected 1,004 new customer names for its newsletter.
We highly appreciate that our distributors make such great efforts to improve Maximal market share. Maximal will always standby to give our best service and biggest support.
Good news about Heavy Duty Forklift

David Cooper
A new company headed by UK forklift industry veterans David Cooper and Tony Rooney wants to inject new life into the Samuk forklift brand that it has just purchased.

Samuk founder Sir Neville Bowman Shaw, who retired early this year, has retained a small shareholding in the new holding company and will serve as technical consultant, while the end of the Samuk partnership with Chinese manufacturer Hangcha has opened new opportunities with Sino American Zhejiang Maximal Forklift Co Ltd (Maximal).

Cooper tells Forkliftaction.com News that he wants to emphasise that while he and Rooney are shareholders in Cooper Specialised Handling, the latter and Samuk are not related and will be operationally independent.

"Cooper SH has not purchased Samuk. The shares have been acquired by a new holding company of which Tony Rooney and I are shareholders. I just happen to be the shareholder in Cooper SH as well," he says.

Cooper and Rooney have over 60 years combined experience in the UK forklift industry. Both started as engineering apprentices.

Rooney started as a field engineer and later worked in service administration and service management. He then ventured into sales, sales management and national account management before being appointed sales and marketing director for Briggs Equipment.

Cooper was an engineering apprentice for Coventry Climax in 1979 before joining the sales department in 1982. Following the buy out by Kalmar in 1986, he launched the Irion side loader line before being appointed general sales manager for all Kalmar products in 1994. In 1998, he set up the SMV UK business on behalf of SMV in Sweden and in 2000 completed a management buy out. The company was renamed Cooper SH in 2008.

On Bowman Shaws role in Samuk, Cooper says while the Samuk founder was keen to retire, he wanted to see the transition with suppliers pass "satisfactorily". "Despite his age, Sir Neville is still both an excellent engineer and a wonderful production engineer. This represents a win win for both the company and Sir Neville that his brief is purely technical."

Other than the run out of Hangcha stock, which is almost completed, there is little operational change in the business. The biggest change is the introduction of Maximal forklifts, slated for the end of November or early December.

"I think it is fair to state that the new owners inherited a distribution agreement that had lapsed and had come to a natural end for both parties, so it afforded an ideal opportunity to breathe new life into the Samuk brand," Cooper says of the decision to go with Maximal.

The new range incorporates diesel machines from 1 30 T capacity and electric machines from 0.5 5.5 T capacity. With the electric variants, there are three wheel options up to 2 T capacities. The range is complemented by warehouse equipment.

Rooney and Cooper want to see the business driven by customers and not products.

"The Samuk brand is well known now, so we wish to build on these strengths, attract more quality dealers and build the brand at a rate commensurate with the acceptance of Chinese sourced products in the UK," Cooper explains.

"The new owners have a desire to be at the forefront of this market rather than be seen as following," he adds.

The company will launch its new trucks at IMHX 2013 on 19 22 March 2013 in Birmingham and wants to expand its dealer network.

Review Maximal 2012
In year 2012, through our great effort together, Maximal is expected 6502 units in total. There into, 3000 units in domestic market and 3502 units in abroad market. Maximal kept continuous growth in export in 2012.
During 2012, we launched several series of middle and high end products with our own intellectual rights, such as 2.0 3.5T and 4.0 mini 5.0T M series improved forklifts, new A series forklift and 13.5T heavy duty forklift. They got high praise from the new and old customers. Another two models (cushion tyre forklift and rough terrain forklift) are in the midst preparing, the demos should be ready in March, 2013.
We Maximal here is so sincere to say thank you. Thank you for your long term great support and hard work. Please lets grow and improve together hand in hand in 2013.
